King of Pop as he will always be known as, Michael Jackson passed away on June 25th 2009 thus ending an era in the world of music. Almost two months after his mysterious death and multiple investigations, the legend will be finally buried on September 3, 2009 Thursday.

The star’s brother Marlon revealed the secrets of the King of Pop’s funeral, which will take place on Thursday. The kids, Prince Michael, Paris and Blanket, have written notes to Daddy Dear that read ‘we love you’, ‘we miss you’. These notes will be placed alongside the singer’s trademark single white glove.

Lying in state in an 18,000 gold-plated casket, the drug-ravaged singer’s body has been fitted with a special wig to give him flowing shoulder-length locks, reveals Marlon. A make-up artist has painted his face to ensure he is buried as if he was taking to the stage for his last bow. After a sunset funeral, Jackson’s coffin will be immediately encased in deep concrete to deter grave robbers and ghouls. A small wake will be held afterwards at the Jackson family compound in Encino. This is the final step, the final curtain will be closed as regards to Michael’s life, said Marlon.

Marlon, 52, said: This will be Michael’s final curtain call, the last show. His shell will be gone but his spirit lives on. Soul legend Aretha Franklin will sing at the graveside and Jackson’s close friend Diana Ross will be there, too.

MJ will be buried in Holly Terrace Grand Mausoleum at Glendale Forest Lawn Memorial Park, near Hollywood in North Los Angeles, alongside stars like Humphrey Bogart and Clark Gable. The cemetery is surrounded by high walls and closed to the public; anyone visiting must show ID.

Michael Jackson may bid us adieu for the last time on Thursday but his music and dance will live with us forever. Rest in peace MJ.

Beginning October 30th, the world will have a front-row seat for Michael Jackson’s final concert, as Sony Pictures Entertainment and Sony Music Entertainment release Michael Jackson’s THIS IS IT.

THIS IS IT is being produced with the full support of The Estate of Michael Jackson and will be drawn from hundreds of hours of rehearsal and behind-the-scenes footage, captured in high definition with state-of-the-art digital sound as the late singer was preparing for his concert series in London. The film, which will also offer select sequences in 3-D, will provide a unique career retrospective and feature interviews with some of Jackson’s closest friends and creative collaborators.

The announcement was made by Michael Lynton, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Sony Pictures Entertainment, Amy Pascal, Co-Chairman of the studio, Rolf Schmidt-Holtz, Chief Executive Officer of Sony Music Entertainment, and Rob Stringer, Chairman of Columbia/Epic Label Group, a subsidiary of Sony Music Entertainment. The companies serve as the principal entertainment divisions of Sony Corporation.

Joining Sony in the announcement was The Estate of Michael Jackson, administered by his longtime attorney John Branca and veteran music executive John McClain, a Jackson family friend for more than 40 years.

The rights to the exclusive footage were acquired from AEG Live and The Estate of Michael Jackson. Sony Pictures and Sony Music will co-produce with AEG Live and the Estate, and Sony Pictures will distribute the film worldwide. Randy Phillips and Paul Gongaware of AEG Live will serve as producers of the film.

The majority of the film’s footage was shot in June, 2009 at STAPLES Center in Los Angeles and The Forum in Inglewood, as Jackson prepared for THIS IS IT, the series of fifty concerts Jackson planned to present at the O2 Arena in London.

Said Branca, ”Our goal is to work with partners who treat Michael’s legacy with dignity and respect, while allowing us to substantially build the value of his estate for the benefit of Mrs. Katherine Jackson, Michael’s three children and the charitable causes that meant so much to him during his life. We are confident we found the right partners for this project in Sony Pictures Entertainment and Sony Music Entertainment. Sony and Michael enjoyed a long and mutually beneficial history together, and it’s only fitting that the relationship continues.”

Said McClain, ”This film is not only a tribute to an artist who created excitement every moment he was on stage, but also is a fitting gift to the millions of fans worldwide who loved him and who he devoted his professional life to entertaining. John and I are thrilled to be working with Sony to build on Michael’s musical legacy in a way that will generate significant proceeds for his family and for children in need.”

“People who have seen this footage are astounded by the amazing quality of Michael Jackson’s performance,” said Lynton. “This historic recording of the last time he sang and danced on stage shows the legendary artist in an incredibly powerful way, with crystal clear images and sound. We understand the importance of producing a film that pays tribute to Michael as an artist, and are honored to work with the Estate of Michael Jackson to give audiences the gift of his final performances. I know this film will serve as further proof that Michael Jackson is one of the greatest entertainers who ever graced a stage.”

“Michael lives on through his songs, his creative genius, his body of work and his passion for his art,” said Rob Stringer. “He was a perfectionist on stage and through this unique film, audiences will be able to see, many for the first time, how much Michael poured into making his performances as special as they were perfect.”

Said Kenny Ortega, director of and Jackson’s creative partner on THIS IS IT concert, ”The world will see what our team was so fortunate to experience, which was the full commitment, passion and creativity that Michael put into this project. He was the architect of THIS IS IT, and we were his builders. The footage that was captured from the early stages of the production to our technical rehearsals at the STAPLES Center in L.A. will show Michael as he truly was, creatively involved with every aspect of the production, from the staging and choreography, to the music, lighting, production design and conception of the original short films and video backdrops. It will also show Michael as one of the greatest entertainers in the world and one of the industry’s most creative minds. THIS IS IT was Michael’s last theatrical work and although it was still a work in progress, I think the footage will show that the process was something that Michael deeply enjoyed and that it was clear that he was on his way to another theatrical triumph.”

There are only two ways out of their Hawaiian honeymoon hideaway, the helicopter pilot informs newlyweds Cliff (Steve Zahn) and Cydney (Milla Jovovich) in A Perfect Getaway: “By foot – or by kayak.” Which certainly gives us a pointer to future developments.

Our wide-eyed backpackers (she’s perky, he’s jittery) soon encounter two other couples, including UNSTABLE redneck Kale (Chris Hemsworth) and his DAFT girlfriend Cleo (Marley Shelton), along with the only marginally less INTENSE former SPECIAL-OPS soldier, Nick (Timothy Olyphant), back from a tour of duty in IRAQ with a titanium PLATE in his head, a mean-looking KNIFE in his belt he calls “my little BUDDY”, and his picturesque Southern gal Gina (Kiele Sanchez), fond of lying around in the NUDE and who knows how to DISMEMBER a GOAT. Could either couple be the tourist-butchering PSYCHOS the hikers have been reading about in the local paper? Will speccy Cliff be forced to become the worm that TURNED? Or the MAGGOT that roared? Can ANYBODY trust anyone else? And will any of them ever manage to get a decent cellphone SIGNAL in this torrid, tropical dreamland?

Alright, that’s enough with the capitals. To quote Christian Bale, hey, it’s F*@&ING DISTRACTING. But that’s exactly what it’s like watching this film. You’d find less signposting on the LA freeway.

A Perfect Getaway is a film about storytelling; the stories we tell ourselves, the stories we tell one another, and the story we’re being told by writer and director David ‘Pitch Black’ Twohy. Sure, we get it. Nice one. But this is much less a movie than a screen writing seminar for beginners, pointedly and distractingly stuffed to the meta-gills with endless references to the film business, the screenwriter’s craft and its own narrative devices. With its discussions about “red herrings” (from a red herring), a fellow hill-walker’s warning that there’s “lots of twists and turns ahead!” (aw, shaddup) and film buff Nick’s suggestion to Cliff, a Hollywood screenwriter (of course), that “You gotta get the details right, otherwise it’s just a super-crap movie”, it makes you feel you’re flunking out by burying your arms in the popcorn box, rather than taking lecture notes and revising for a film studies exam after the credits.

This tiresome post-modern reflex has latterly conquered almost every corner of the mainstream, from action films to horrors and (especially) kids’ movies, and it really isn’t big or clever anymore. In fact, probably the most radical thing to do right now would be to tell a tale absolutely straight, from A-Z, without lathering on the irony or compulsively winking at the audience like Inspector Dreyfuss mid-breakdown.

Twohy doesn’t actually desist in the movie’s second half. But what he does do is suddenly play a switcheroo that, by the conventions of the form, if not the genre, might be considered faintly outrageous if you’d never previously encountered the concept of a ‘twist’ before. But it’s then that things really get going. A Perfect Getaway might start out like some regular cheesy holiday thriller (she’s called ‘Cydney’, for crissakes), albeit one entirely too pleased with its own contrivances, plus uncomfortable reasonances to a recent real-life honeymoon slaying in the Caribbean. But for that final half-hour or so, give or take a regulation catfight, the movie’s a blast, featuring cool chase sequences (Twohy wrote 1993′s ‘The Fugitive’, after all), Peter Jackson-style gross-outs, and generally just good-old over-the-top, by-the-skin-of-the-fingernails fun. Good title pun too. And those Hawaiian vistas, of course, are sheer eye-pudding. (If nothing else, this will help you decide where to book your holiday next year). But less meta, more But less meta, more *matter* next time, please.

For the first time in India, music will be  cavailable in pen drives and micro chips. A format largely used in daily lives by the youth of India will now get integrated with the way music isonsumed.

In a major development T Series, the market leaders in Indian music business, are to launch pen drives and memory chips that would have pre recorded music. It would be a combination of music plus storage space. T-Series initiated the research and development wing to work on this almost a year ago.

This initiative will be launched with the film Blue in around August / September. Blue , AR Rahman’s first release after Slumdog Millionaire , is supposed to be the most awaited music albums of the year.

“We saw this coming since sometime now as music market is getting younger and younger. The trend in music is strongly favoring digital platforms. We had initiated research and development for this around a year and half back and now we are ready to take this step which is a very big one in music industry. We will be aggressively looking at mobile memory chips through which people can carry music on their phones and we will be looking at pen drives which people can carry with them and use in laptop as well as in car audio systems. We are looking to launch this with Blue which is AR Rahman’s only score this year. We see it as a revolutionary step which may change music consumption to a great degree”,  says Bhushan Kumar of T Series.

Harry Potter stars Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson hated their onscreen school uniform and want the franchise bosses to burn them after they finish shooting the final movie. The stars, who play the students of magic school Hogwarts in the movie are happy to get rid of the uniforms once the shooting is over. Watson, the nerdy Hermione Granger in the movie, said, “I was like, ‘Burn it!’ Oh, my God, to be done with those shoes and that uniform.”

Actor Daniel Radcliffe is also happy to ditch his Hogwarts school uniform. “When you’re 18, one of the worst things to be wearing while trying to chat up a girl on the set is a school uniform. “You look like a kid. You’re not going to score dressed like that,” Radcliffe told Entertainment Weekly. However, co-star Rupert Grint admitted that he had stolen one of his read ties that he gets to wear in the film. The Harry Potter movies are based on highly successful fantasy novels written by British author JK Rowling.

The story revolves around the adventures of adolescent wizard Harry Potter, Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger, his friends from the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. The sixth film Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince is to release on July 15 in US. They are currently shooting the last film of the franchise Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.
