Plot:- Aage Se Right is the story of chance. The film is an edgy contemporary satire of the chaotic times that we live in.

Through a series of events which are beyond their control the cop loses his gun and the terrorist loses his heart.

Dhinkar Waghmare (Shreyas Talpade) is a sub-inspector who lives in his late father’s shadow. He loses his gun four days before the Police Day function and as he tries to save his face and get back his gun, he comes face to face with terrorists and the mafia. Luck favours him and he becomes a hero. He is a fan of Soniya Bhatt (Mahi Gill), television news reporter who helps add that extra masala to the news and to his life.

Janubhai alias Balma Rashidul Khairi (Kay Kay Menon) is a terrorist who lands up in Mumbai to wreak havoc but instead cupid strikes and he falls truly, madly, deeply in love with Pearl (Shehnaz Treasurywala), an aspiring actress who is also a popular dance girl in a bar. He trades in violence for love.

The film spans over five days of panic, chaos and mayhem as it tells the story of Dhinkar and Janubhai, whose worlds collide in a maze of chance and mayhem.

Aagey Se Right is an unconventional comedy which revolves around two guys Dinkar Waghmare and Janubhai alias Balma Rashidui Khairi aka Janu who become heroes from zeroes due to the situations they get into.

Dinkar (Shreyas) is young, childish and a not so tough guy who is forced to join the police department by his mother. On the other hand Janu (Kay Kay Menon) is a terrorist who comes to India for an operation. Dinkar who is already attracted to a TV reporter Soniya (Mahie Gill) loses his service revolver on his way to the police station. And for the rest the film he keeps searching for his gun. On the other hand, Janu meets a dancer called Pearl (Shehnaz Treasurywala) and falls for her. Soon he realizes love should be the reason to live, not hatred and anger and thus aborts his mission. Raghav (Vijay Maurya) a local don gives Janu training so that he can impress Pearl. And the rest is about how Dinkar and Janu face different situations and find the revolver and love respectively.

Shreyas played the character of a dumb guy and played it well. Kay Kay, who always comes up with brilliant performances, may not be liked by people as the expectations were high. Most disappointing among the cast is Mahie Gill. After a brilliant start in B-town as Paro in Dev D, she totally disappointed her fans here. She has nothing to do except reading out a few news reports throughout the runtime. Vijay who played Raghav did a marvellous job. Whatever laughter the movie delivers, Vijay is the reason behind it. Shehnaz who was used as eye candy  was a bit hush hush in the movie.

The direction, screenplay and story was by Indrajit Nattooji. The movie has a few new things to look forward to, like Kay Kay using a mix of Urdu and tapori language and actor Vijay Maurya. Director brought in a great bunch of actors but could not bring out the best in them. The script seem pretty  powerless sometimes and  was losing its pace from time to time. There were some unnecessary scenes which can bore you to a certain extent. Music will be the last thing you will talk about.

Not a great movie for commercial film lovers but people will definitely love the Janu and Raghav pair. Out of the movies released this week Aagey Se Right can make a point or two.

Akshay Kumar has always maintained that women are stronger than men when it comes to mental strength. Now with Level 2 of ‘Khatron Ke Khiladi’, he is out there to prove to the world that this mental strength also comes to play in physical activities; something which reflected in their performances when compared to men.

‘I have said this quite a few times now that I believe women to be way stronger than men. It’s high time that our society give them credit for this’, says Akshay when asked if one of the major reasons for doing ‘Khatron Ke Khiladi’ was the fact that he found it empowering for women to go ahead and face the challenges of life.

Talking from Italy where he is currently shooting for Sajid Khan directed HOUSEFULL, Akshay further goes on to challenge men. ‘If men were so brave, how come God made sure that it’s only women that gave birth? We may be able to lift more bricks but that’s about it. Level 2 is a perfect example of what I am getting at.’

Akshay also reveals that there were number of instances during the shooting of ‘Khatron Ke Khiladi’ where he was simply dismayed with the way male participants performed stunts.

‘In fact I had to shout at the guys for some of their pathetic attempts. You should watch how many times men get rescued by their female partners on this show. On the other hand women were much controlled in the situations they found themselves in. While men tend to believe that brute strength can get them everywhere, the fact is that it was women that got them there in the end’, elaborates Akshay.

With the show promising to be much jaw dropping and awe inspiring with dare devilry stunts being the order of the day, ‘Khatron Ke Khiladi’ is already ensuring a high adrenalin drive. The participants this time around are Bruna Abdalah, Sushma Reddy, Carol Gracias, Jesse Randhawa, Mandira Bedi, Nauheed Cyrusi, Rosa Catalano, Rupali Ganguly, Sonika Kaliraman, Shonali Nagrani, Pia Trivedi, Shveta Salve and Anushkha Manchanda.

Producer Uru Patel has now zeroed in on Aamir Khan to play Hanuman, though God forbid, not as a monkey God but as a super-hero who can fly over mountains and skyscrapers and rescue the modern-day Rama from the ravenous Ravans of today’s world.

Rama and Ravan will be played by Hollywood stars Keanu Reeves and Gary Oldman, respectively. Sita was to be played by Shilpa Shetty. But she has opted out since then. The hunt is on for a new international face to play Sita.

Aamir has been keen to do super-hero film specially after Hrithik Roshan’s Krissh and Shah Rukh Khan’s forthcoming Ra.1 (where he plays a desi Spiderman). Hanuman will now be played as a super-hero with the best action directors and special-effects experts ensuring Aamir’s safe passage into super-heroism.

The whole project now depends on Aamir’s nod which he’ll give only after he approves of the script.

The catch is, Aamir’s signature will have to be on every page of the script.

Says a source, “Aamir wants to sign every page of the script to ensure no changes happen during shooting. Only then will he agree to play Hanuman.”

Apparently this is the method of working –signature on every page of the script– that Aamir will adopt in all his future projects, whenever he signs more films. For now it looks like Hanuman will be his first assignment after the blockbuster Ghajini.

Earlier Hanuman was to be directed by Luis Mandoki (of Message In A Bottle fame). Mandoki wrote the first few drafts of the project. But now the chosen director is Chuck Russell whose familiarity with the language of fantasy (Eraser, The Mask, The Scorpion King, Mandrake) qualified him for the job of directing Hanuman.

A hush-hush meeting happened in Los Angeles three months ago at producer Uru Patel’s residence where director Chuck Russell met up with the project’s executive producer Pradeep Guha. The project has now passed into Aamir’s hand and his approval is awaited.

Says Pradeep Guha, “He has been approached. But Aamir will decide after he reads the script.”

Other sources insist that the makers of Hanuman are keen have Aamir on board and ready to comply with all his preconditions.

Once Aamir signs the film formally, the first schedule of Hanuman is expected to be held in Rajasthan at the end of the year. The rest of the film will be shot at Hollywood studios.

There are bad movies, then there is Three-Love, Lies, Betrayal. Seemed like nobody working in the film was paid. From the first scene I knew where it was headed: from bad to worse to dreadful.

Coming to the story, here’s how it goes: Rajeev Dutt (Akshay Kapoor) and Anjani Dutt (Nausheen Ali Sardar) live in a huge mansion in Scotland. The truth is that they are in a major financial crisis. He has suffered a big loss in his business, and the meager income that she gets by teaching kids how to play the violin, isn’t enough to sustain them.

He suggests they sell the house. She vehemently refuses, for that house was her parents’ and she is emotionally attached to it. Obviously they quarrel over this, but she is unrelenting.

Then she comes up with an idea. Why don’t we rent out a portion of the house? Sanjay (Ashish Chowdhry), a singer-in-the-making shows up at their place. Anjani takes a liking to him instantly and he stays on as a tenant.

One night Sanjay rebukes her for sticking to a useless man like Rajeev. The vulnerable girl slips and makes a mistake. That is the beginning of her extra marital affair.

But this is apparently a suspense thriller. So now we have a twist. Turns out that Sanjay is in fact after the house, and has no romantic inclination towards the hapless Anjani.

He threatens to tell her husband about their clandestine relationship unless she hands over the house to him. Though she is scared of the consequences, she tells her husband. He forgives her in an instant and beats up Sanjay. The latter now turns vicious and vows to make life hell for them.

Remember this is a suspense film? So there are more twists. Sanjay is not who he seems, and neither is Rajeev. I am almost tempted to give out the “secret”, but I won’t!

The film, though it is shot in Scotland doesn’t explore any of its natural beauty. What a waste. It could have been shot in Sajjanpur instead!

Nausheen is the same girl that played the central character Kusum, in a popular soap opera years ago. And it shows. She looks rather uncomfortable in Western wear (bad job by the designer in any case).

Plus, she is definitely too old to be the “heroine”. Even layers of really bad makeup couldn’t hide her age. She looked older than both the men’s ages put together! She should definitely audition for the next Ramsay Brothers film though!

The men are no better. Akshay speaks like a sissy when he’s supposed to be manly and looks psychotic when he’s angry. Ashish has tried to pull off a serious sexy image, but falls way short, and is just plain weird.

The dialogues are very unreal. Most of them are corny. Case in point: “You can take the girl out of India, but you can’t take India out of the girl”. Some of them are so bad that you want to tear your hair out, roll it into a ball and eat it, hoping you die before the scene gets over.

Even if you haven’t seen any suspense films earlier you’ll guess the plot before the mystery is actually revealed. It’s not just the script that’s bad. The Direction, the camera work, the soundtrack, the background score are all equally ghastly.

Good luck to anyone that dares to watch it!

An underwater action thriller, ‘BLUE’ captures the fast paced action, above and below the ocean as never seen before in Indian Cinema! And when you talk of a film based on underwater sequences, how can you miss out on the most adorable sea animals – the dolphins?

In Shree Ashtavinayak ’s ‘BLUE’ directed by debutant director Anthony D’Souza, you can see Sanjay Dutt & Lara Dutta frolicking with the dolphins! The audiences will get to see Sanjay & Lara cavorting delightfully with the sea creatures in a romantic song ‘ Aaj Dil Gustak Hai ‘ in the film.

Says director Anthony, “It was very difficult to shoot with the wild spotted dolphins and we had to travel overnight to Bimini to shoot with them. It was well worth all the efforts as the outcome was spectacular! We were extremely lucky to find a cluster of them and the delighful tricks which the dolphins learnt especially for the song make for a visual treat.”

The song has been picturised on the actors playing with wild dolphins in all their majestic glory in Bimini Islands. There were also scenes which required them to shoot at close range for which they had specially trained dolphins at the dolphin encounters! These mammals were specially taught tricks which are shown in the film. Not just the actors even the dolphins were trained for their roles!!!

Even after the required shots, Sanjay and Lara would stay back in the dolphin encounters and play with the dolphins!!! And being very intelligent creatures, the mammals picked up the tricks very fast and were loved and petted by the entire team!

Why is this film called Fox? It could have been named “Predictable”, or maybe “Ordinary”. Every other film in the recent past was apparently a suspense thriller; and just like their debacle, Fox suffers from a loose and oft-beaten script.

Broadly, the story is about a guy who wants to turn over a new leaf in his life. The guy in question is Arjun Kapoor (Arjun Rampal), a criminal lawyer, who can get anyone acquitted, irrespective of how heinous their crime. Predictably all his clients are actually guilty of the charges pressed against them, but an expert that he is, he gets the court to believe that they are innocent.

Rich and successful he may be, but then his dormant conscience wakes up and he quits practice to go away to Goa for a while. His colleague and girlfriend Urvashi (Sagarika Ghatke) accepts his decision of them not having any contact while he’s gone.

After a few months he meets an old man there who gives him the manuscript of a novel titled “Fix the Fox”. What a coincidence that the story is about lawyers, criminals, crimes et al.

Arjun loves it, and when he goes to meet the man the next day he is told that he’s dead. He leaves perplexed.

He then meets the head of a Publishing House, Sophia (Udita Goswami) in a bid to get the manuscript published. As luck might have it she loves it too and goes ahead to launch Arjun as a new writer.

In no time the novel is catapulted to the status of a bestseller, India’s fastest one at that. Urvashi comes to visit him and they spend a few romantic days together.

Just when things are looking good, a cop steps in to cause turmoil. Yashwant Deshmukh (Sunny Deol, who else!) realizes that the murders in the book have actually happened in the past. He checks, and finds that they were all unsolved cases. He puts two and two together and figures that Arjun must be the actual murderer, or else how would he know of those crimes in such great detail.

Arjun is arrested and he has no means to prove his innocence as the writer is not only dead, but was also operating under a pseudonym.

How does Arjun get out of the mess? Who is the real culprit? Why is Arjun being targeted? The answers are at the end of the film; but a little logic will ensure that you would have figured it all out much before that. How many such films will we have to endure until Directors realize that movie-watchers are not as dumb as they think?

Arjun is watchable, though this is definitely not one of his finer performances. Sagarika has lost the freshness that she brought with Chak De. Udita’s rather short role merely existed to add a touch of glamour to the film. Her skimpy outfits were not exactly up to the mark though. Sunny Deol as the cop is mediocre.

My verdict? You won’t fall asleep while watching the film, but there is little motivation in it to keep you awake. Arm yourself with nachos, popcorn and fries!

Movie Review:- Author: Douglas Young (the-movie-guy) from Memphis, Tennessee

(Synopsis) Leo (Donald Faison) works as a next day delivery driver who is delivering packages while being high on weed. Leo deliverers a package containing 10 bricks of high quality cocaine to the wrong apartment number. Two smalltime hoods, Brody (Mike Epps) and Guch (Wood Harris) open the box and find a gift from heaven. They immediately arrange to sell the coke to Brody’s drug dealer cousin for $150,000. In the meantime, Jesus (Cisco Reves) tries to track down who got his package before the drug kingpin, Bodega Diablo (Emilio Rivera) notices that his drugs are missing. Unfortunately, time has run out and Bodega is in town, and he is furious that his shipment is lost. Bodega will get his drugs back or heads will roll. During the same time, Brody and Guch are about to complete their drug deal with Guch’s cousin. They are on a collision course with destiny, because they are about to have company knocking at their door.

(My Comment) This is a funny movie about a package shipping company and the things we think they do to our packages before we get them, such as opening packages and taking watches or other items out, and throwing packages around in the truck before they are delivered to us. The real companies try not to do these things, or they would be out of business. But it is a lot of fun watching some of the things they do in this movie. Mike Epps and Wood Harris are just great as two inept criminals. The bank robbery at the beginning of the movie should win the stupidest criminal award this year. The movie is a little slow at the beginning, but it picks up by the end. There is a moral to the story, don’t do or sell drugs. (Summit Entertainment, Run Time 1:30, Rated R)(7/10)
